My good friend and awesome writer Bill Dragoo talked me into riding the Oklahoma Adventure Trail in late July, 2014 – right in the heat of the summer. We spent 11 days riding dual sport motorcycles along dirt and gravel roads all around the perimeter of Oklahoma. Bill wrote a story for our client Roadrunner Magazine, a national publication that focuses on motorcycle touring stories. They ended up running the story with my pictures across 12 pages of the magazine, including the cover. I always enjoy working with Bill and the crew at Roadrunner.
Today I have a photo of my good friend, motorcycle travel partner and writer extraordinaire Bill Dragoo on his recently purchased 2015 BMW R1200GS motorcycle. Bill just picked up his Beemer the week before I took this photo at his Adventure Rider training course, and already had it tricked out with some cool farkles. Bill is one of the nicest people I know and an outstanding rider and friend. He and I have done many stories together and have a story coming up in October in RoadRunner Magazine about the Oklahoma Adventure Trail – 1,700 miles of dirt and secondary trails around the perimeter of Oklahoma.
Bill is a frequent subject of my photos since we often travel together on assignments. He is always patient and willing to do whatever I need him to do so I can “get the shot”.
I shot this photo on Ilford HP5 film (ran out of Kodak TMAX-100) using my Toyo VX-125 4×5 large format film camera.
