Done with the motorcycles for now! This time I am photographing my good friends Bill and Susan Dragoo with their cool Toyoto Tacoma pickup truck that is geared up for adventure travel. Bill and Susan travel extensively in this beautifully prepared truck, camping along the way and exploring many off-road destinations across the United States. I shot this with my Toyo VX-125 4×5 large format film camera on Ilford HP5 film. For this shot I increased the aperture to about F11 so I could get the entire truck in focus. I really like how this photo turned out.
Aaron Tygart posed for this picture while at Bill Dragoo’s Adventure Training course in Lexington, Oklahoma a few weeks ago. Aaron is on a late model BMW R1200GS motorcycle and learning to ride knarly off-road stuff with Bill and his classmates.
Mo Copeland sits astride his Kawasaki KLR-650 motorcycle at Bill Dragoo’s Adventure Training course in Lexington, Oklahoma. The KLR-650 is a VERY popular dual sport motorcycle and lots of riders own and love them. I personally have never been a big KLR fan but I am sure the KLR riders will say “good, that means more for us”. I certainly have known a lot of friends who ride and enjoy those bikes. KLR’s are relatively inexpensive, plentiful, and has a huge aftermarket following so you can buy all kinds of do-dads for KLR motorcycles.
I photographed Mo on his KRL next to the South Canadian River using my Toyo VX-125 4×5 film camera on Kodak TMAX-100 film.
Today we have Perry Fields atop his BMW R1200GS Adventure motorcycle. Perry was attending Bill Dragoo’s Adventure Training course in Lexington, Oklahoma when he stopped along the shores of the South Canadian River for this photo. I set up my Toyo VX-125 film camera and took this portrait of Perry on his bike using Kodak TMAX-100 black and white film.
