Another still life photo shot at home on a rainy day. I just grabbed a few things around the house and put them together to work on my studio still life skills. I shot this photo at F8 which I thought would be enough depth of field to get my subject in sharp focus. Obviously I missed big time on that! Large format photography has SUCH a narrow depth of field when compared to 35 mm photography! Shooting things like this that I normally don’t shoot is good practice to help remind me of things such as this. The main reason for my 4x5x365 project is to force me to shoot more large format work and hence gain hard earned experience. And experience comes from making mistakes as well as my successes. This is one of my mistakes.
