Today Kay and I had visitors in from South Korea – on about a 3 hour notice. I belong to a bicycle web site called Warmshowers.org that allows bicyclists to find free places to stay while they are riding around the world. I post our place and this is the second visitors in the past few months we have hosted. They are two university students from South Korea – Minho Park and Jaewon Heo – who are riding their bicycles this summer from Los Angeles to New York. They contacted me via Warmshowers and asked if they could spend the night. I had planned to take my mom to a movie, but we postponed and I said “sure”. I actually drove 5 miles to the UCO campus and picked them up and gave them a ride to our place. They took a shower, I am cooking dinner, and they can relax tonight in a clean bed, drink a beer, and be on their way in the morning – all at no cost. Our payback is we get to visit with people from another country and culture and hear about their travels – a pretty good payback in my opinion.
